First ESIA Open Science Journal Issue Published

The work of the first ESIA OSJ Course participants from Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia and Greece has just been published!

A very special issue of Open Schools Journal for Open Science (OSJ) has just been published as a result of the efforts put by the participants of the first webinar of OSJ, under the title “Publishing a Scientific Article With Your Students”. The Webinar was part of the European School Innovation Academy (ESIA) and it took place 13-17 July 2020 via Zoom due to COVID 19 restrictions.

During the course, teachers have been trained in order to be able to support their students for publishing their work in the Journal. Initially, they have been exposed to the beauty of the methodology of scientific research and the important phases within. The correlations with the inquiry-based learning were highlighted in order to encourage teachers to underline the resemblances between their daily routines and the work conducted by the academia. Also, they had an insight on how the Journal works and they got familiarized with the phases before publication.

After the end of the course, participants from Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia and Greece have developed each a scientific article, covering several STEM areas and varying in complexity.

An excellent example of the outcomes of the determination of these teachers to present their students’ acting as inspiration for their students and the educational community.

Stay tuned for updates and upcoming opportunities to take part in this fascinating project and sign up for the ESIA newsletter to stay informed!
